Information

Some general information about TCGs in general and Adagielle!

Trading Card Games

Online trading card games (TCGs for short) were started by Calico with Senshi Card Mania back in 2000. TCGs online are adaptations of real life TCGs, albeit much cheaper and easier to play. chanda, owner of TCG Addict, has a few links to very informative guides here that can explain it well and in full detail for anyone new. =)

Adagielle

Adagielle is all about nature, inclusive of space and even specific locations (Niagara Falls, Redwood National Forest, et cetera). Much of the inspiration was taken from four different nature TCGs I've been a part of, all of which have sadly closed or died - Divinitas, Divinity, Mother Nature and Wonders of Nature.

The name of Adagielle comes from a combination of adagio and elegance. Adagio, an Italian term for a slow piece of music, is literally "at ease," and I thought it to be fitting; both music and nature are calming, and I've always felt a connection with the two. Tons of thanks to iceymoon for helping me come up with the title Adagielle! <3

Levelling

To level up, you must have a certain amount of cards or worth. In this TCG, levels are counted by worth. Levelling becomes harder the higher you get, to maintain a bit of challenge. =)

Level Requirement Level Requirement
One 000 - 030 Nine 351 - 410
Two 031 - 060 Ten 411 - 480
Three 061 - 100 Elven 481 - 550
Four 101 - 140 Twelve 551 - 630
Five 141 - 190 Thirteen 631 - 710
Six 191 - 240 Fourteen 711 - 790
Seven 241 - 290 Fifteen 791 - 880
Eight 291 - 350 Sixteen 881 - 1,000
Seventeen 1,001+

While the levels are finite, levelling is not. For every 150 worth past seventeen, you receive the same rewards as levelling to seventeen. Rewards for levelling are as follows -

Level Reward
One - Eight 1 regular card of choice, 3 random regular cards
Nine - Sixteen 2 regular cards of choice, 3 random regular cards
Seventeen 2 regular cards of choice, 1 special card of choice, 3 random regular cards

Mastering

To master a set, you must have collected all the cards within one deck and submitted a form claiming your mastery. Once you master a deck, you may not trade those cards (unless, of course, you get doubles of the deck). The rewards for mastering are as follows -

Deck Type and Count Reward
Regular - 10 or less 1 choice regular, 1 random regular, 1 random special
Regular - 15 or more 2 choice regular, 2 random regular, 1 random special
Special - layout (four cards) 1 choice regular, 1 random special
Special - 10 or less 1 choice special, 2 random regular, 1 random special
Special - 15 or more 1 choice special, 1 choice regular, 2 random regular, 2 random special

Currency & Coupons

Adagielle's currency is in the form of atmospheric objects (hover for worth!) -

These can be used to buy items in the shop, from cards to coupons and more! Coupons themselves may be traded in for cards as stated on the coupon.

Earning Cards

There's totes of ways to earn shiny new cards. To name a few -

- Playing games
- Donating
- Freebies from new decks or the forum
- Your birthday month
- Special occassions, or when Seiya feels like giving out cards ;p
- Being mentioned as a referrer when someone joins

Staff Players

The staff (save for my friend Lapin, who is a card maker) also plays the game. Mostly, they do things that don't affect their playing directly, other than influencing their staff pay - so they're under the same oath not to cheat as any other member. For staff members who DO update games, if it's something requiring a specific answer, they aren't allowed to play those games.

I also play, and I do not play games other than puzzles, memory and forum games. I collect staff pay and trade cards like any other member. I feel strongly against cheating at anything, even online TCGs, so I doubt you have to worry about me having an advantage over anyone else. ;p
